Victoria Medders* 1893-1957 1Victoria MEDDERS was born 11th October 1893 in Alma, Bacon County, Georgia and died 22nd December 1957 in Bacon County, Georgia. Victoria was the 3rd of (10) children of William Jasper MEDDERS and Elizabeth “Bettie Lou" Louvicus DEEN. Victoria MEDDERS is the granddaughter of John Smith "Meadows" MEDDERS, a Confederate Civil War Soldier, who fought at the Battle of Jonesboro, 31 Aug 1864 to 1 Sep 1864, where he was wounded and lost his right arm above the elbow. Victoria MEDDERS is the grandniece of James Riley MEDDERS, a Confederate Civil War Soldier, who fought at the Battle of Nashville/Nashville Station. Victoria MEDDERS, is the 4th granddaughter of Phillip DEEN, an American Revolutionary War Soldier. Political Family Members

Victoria married at a young age to Simon Monroe PEACOCK on the 28th February 1909 in Appling County, Georgia. Simon was born 9th February 1882 in Raleigh, Johnson County, North Carolina. Victoria and Simon had (10) recorded children.
Simon and Victoria lost their 2nd and third born children at very young ages. Their 2nd child an infant boy (1912-1912), and their 3rd born James Doyle PEACOCK (1913-1914) both are buried at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Alma, Bacon County, Georgia. Victoria’s husband, Simon Monroe Peacock registered for the World War 1 draft on 618th September 1918, in Alma Bacon County, Georgia. Simon Monroe Peacock is living in Rockingham, Bacon County, Georgia on 76th January 1920 as a farmer with his wife Victoria and family. The children living with them at this time are; Leona age 9 years 11months, Willard age 4 and Dorsey age 1. Simon is living next door to his wife Victoria's father Jasper Medders and family. Simon is shown as renting his home. Simon is recorded on (page #4B, line 62, household #65). Simon Monroe Peacock is living in Louisville, Bacon County, Georgia in the Alma Rural Route No. 3 on 816th April 1930 as a farmer with his wife Victoria and family. The children living with them at this time are; Willard age 15 - Dorsey age 13 - Monroe age 10 - Oletha age 7 - Ruden age 6 - Maxine age 3 years 1month and Christine age 10months. Also living in his household is a boarder John Jones age 40. Simon is shown as renting his home. Simon is recorded on (page #2A, line 30, household #20). Victoria’s husband Simon Monroe PEACOCK died on 924th June 1950 in Alma, Bacon County, Georgia and is buried at Big Creek Baptist Church, Cemetery, Alma Bacon County, Georgia
